BOONE, NC - November 9, 2011 - ECR Software Corporation (ECRS) today announced the general release of its latest retail automation software suite, CATAPULT 5.1 (latest version 5.1.4). This powerful solution for front-to-back retail enterprise management includes over 80 new performance and functionality enhancements making it one of the most impactful CATAPULT releases to date.
The refinement of inventory automation is a continued focus in CATAPULT 5.1. Functionality advancements in this area further extends ECRS as the innovation leader in retail inventory automation and supply chain management.
CATAPULT 5.1 introduces Auto Default PO™ which gives store buyers the freedom to simultaneously generate orders for many suppliers at once. With this feature, store employees can use ECRS's mobile hand held terminal solution to walk the store floor and randomly scan and order any items within the store location. CATAPULT intelligently routes each ordered item to the correct trusted supplier.
DemandFill™ Order Assist™ technology is also being introduced in CATAPULT 5.1. DemandFill™ automatically builds suggested orders based on complex forecasting rules and real-time data insuring the most accurate orders possible. This method of automated inventory replenishment saves hours in manual labor and prevents lost revenue from out-of-stocks, over-stocks, and manual error. Coupled with ECRS's proprietary LogicSync™ business intelligence and the newly released Supplier Gateway 4.0, inventory replenishment and supply chain management have never been more intuitive, accurate, and fast.
Features in CATAPULT 5.1 also address important regulatory compliance mandates. CATAPULT 5.1 offers regulatory relief to pharmacy merchants by enabling automated communication between the CATAPULT point-of-sale and NPLEx (National Precursor Log Exchange) service for tracking of pseudoephedrine precursor drugs. NPLEx tracking is a requirement for the sale of PSE precursor drugs in 17 states with additional states expected to join. CATAPULT's MethCheck™ integration simplifies NPLEx compliance for both customers and staff and eliminates the need for hand written paper logs.
Another compliance-based enhancement of CATAPULT 5.1 includes support for Texas WIC EBT payments. Such transactions can now be electronically processed through the CATAPULT point-of-sale as certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services. This allows merchants in the state of Texas to process WIC/EBT transactions through one system instead of a separate POS and Texas WIC approved device.
Additional enhancements in CATAPULT 5.1 include, but are not limited to, support for Driver's License scanning* for faster customer onboarding, customer association, and age verification; speed and performance improvements; additional reporting data; bulk edit functions; PLUM™ integrated scale management, CATAPULT Loyalty Points™, eCommerce support, and fresh produce GS1 DataBar bar code support.
